Mouse & Remote Mode
Not everything is a game. When you launch a Mac app, streaming client, or launcher from The Vault, your controller becomes a TV-remote and mouse so you can navigate without reaching for a keyboard.
Controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| D-pad | Arrow keys (with hold-to-repeat) |
| A | Left click |
| X | Return / select |
| Y | Right click |
| B | Back (browser) |
| Options / Menu | Escape |
| Left stick | Move the cursor (smoothed) |
| Right stick (up/down) | Scroll |
| DualSense touchpad | Relative cursor drag |
Navigation flavors
For grid/carousel UIs (like streaming-app libraries), Remote Mode offers two navigation styles:
- Arrow — the D-pad sends plain arrow keys.
- Tab — the D-pad sends Tab bursts to jump between rows/controls, for apps that navigate by focus rather than arrows.
Tuning
The feel is adjustable in Settings:
- Cursor sensitivity and dead zone for the stick.
- Scroll speed and natural scrolling direction.
- Touchpad sensitivity for DualSense cursor drag.
💡 When it's active
Remote Mode engages automatically while a non-game app launched from The Vault is in front, then hands control back to Showcase navigation when you return.
